renewed hope

My dear friend, Paige, sent me an email of encouragement the other day and included a bit of scripture:

Isaiah 40:28-31

The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

I have read this passage many times in my life but seemed to read it with a new pair of glasses this time. It seemed to be exactly what I needed to read. With a very tough year behind us, and some challenges still looming, this passage brought renewed hope in the Lord. I realized that I haven't been fully trusting God and have been spending a good portion of my time angry and questing Him.

With a very important doctor's appointment coming up on Friday, I pray that I can be reminded of this passage and continue to hope and trust in my Lord. I pray that I will have patience and remember that GOD'S TIMING is perfect, not my own.

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength." AMEN! What an encouragement.
