Recipe Monday Funday

I have been wanting to do a fun, weekly recipe thing but just haven't gotten around to it... UNTIL NOW! It is my immense pleasure to introduce to you, drumroll please, RECIPE MONDAY FUNDAY!

I know, catchy name. Anyway, it took me a long time to decide what I wanted my first recipe review to be, I searched through a bunch of recipes that I have saved and been wanting to try. I finally found this one: Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies. I mean, what better way to start off a tradition then with a warm cookie and a glass of cold milk... yum!

This recipe is from one of my new favorite recipe websites, Annie's Eats. It is a wonderful source for some yummy food and if you haven't checked it out, you should! This chocolate chip recipe was A-MAZING! It is definitely my new favorite and I hope you all (you know, the whole 3 of you that read this) try it out!

Here is Annie's Eats recipe with some of my changes:

Ingredients:
2 cups plus 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
12 tbsp. unsalted butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 ½ cups milk chocolate chips (original recipe calls for semi-sweet)

Directions:
Preheat oven 325°. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Whisk dry ingredients together in a medium bowl; set aside. With electric mixer, or by hand, mix butter and sugars until thoroughly combined. Beat in egg, yolk, and vanilla until combined. Add dry ingredients and beat at low-speed just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

Roll dough into rough balls and place on cooking sheet. Bake, reversing position of cookie sheets halfway through baking, until cookies are light golden brown and outer edges start to harden yet centers are still soft and puffy (approximately 11-14 minutes). Do not overbake!

Hope you guys enjoy as much as we did :-)
