Dear Baby: 37 weeks

Dear sweet Micah,

We are now just 14 days away from meeting you (unless you decide to come sooner) and we can't wait!!  We are so excited to see what you look like, smell like, sound like, feel like... the list goes on and on.  I'm pretty sure it still hasn't sunk in that we are about to be a family of 4 (and probably won't until you're here), but it's going to be awesome.  I have no doubt that you are going to be the perfect addition to this family.  I'll be honest, I'm a little nervous about juggling two little ones, but I promise I'll figure it out!  You have a very fun, sweet, loving big brother waiting for you!  He loves to touch my belly and give it kisses.  I think he thinks my belly is "Micah", but he'll learn soon enough!

We love you so much, Micah, and are counting down the days till you're in our arms!  Stay safe in there!

All my love,
Your momma

Dear baby: 18 weeks

Dear sweet baby boy,

Happy 18 weeks to you!  In just a couple of weeks we'll be halfway through this pregnancy, and halfway to meeting each other.  I can hardly wait for that day.  When I think about having another little boy to love I feel like my heart is literally going to explode.  I hope it can handle all the love!

I'm feeling you move more and more these days.  You still feel like a little goldfish swimming around, but it seems that the movements are getting stronger each day... you must be doing some good growing in there! Supposedly you're the size of a bell pepper this week, about 7 oz and 5.5 inches long (head to bottom).  Big boy ;-)  Although, let's try not to get TOO big, okay?  You're brother was 10.5 pounds and my doctor told me expect you to be even bigger... yikes!!!  Prove her wrong, ok?

We love you so much and are so excited to be your parents.  We've been telling Elijah about you and getting him ready for his roll as a big brother.  He's gonna do great!  Stay warm in there, it's cold out here!

All my love,
your momma

Dear baby: 14 weeks

Dear sweet baby,

Mommy needs to confess that she hasn't been doing a great job writing to you lately.  I'm so sorry for that.  I think and dream about you all the time, but with your recently mobile big brother, we've been pretty busy around here.  We love you so so much and still can't believe how that God is blessing us with another little babe.

I felt you move for the very first time this morning.  In fact, you were actually quite squirmy, just like your big brother!  I remember your daddy and I laying in bed laughing at how much he would move around, making my belly turn into funny shapes.  I wonder if you'll be the same way.  I wonder if you'll be BIG like he was.  I wonder if you'll have hair.  I wonder if you'll be a good sleeper (yay!).  Or a bad sleeper (eek!).  See, I told you I think about you all the time.

We have a doctor's appointment one week from today and mayyyybe we'll find out if you're a boy or girl.  I obviously can't wait to find out, but I know that there's a good chance you'll still be too small, so I can wait until December if need be.  We will see!

Either way, boy or girl, we love you and can't wait to meet you!  Stay safe in there and keep on growing big and strong!  I love you to the moon and back, little one.

All my love,
Your momma

our family is growing!

Even though I still can't believe it, we are expecting our second little bundle in May!  We are so excited to meet our new little boy or girl.  And if you can't tell, Elijah is thrilled to be a big brother :-)

dear baby: 6 weeks

Dear baby,

I had an ultrasound this morning and found out you are 6 weeks, 2 days old!  You also had a strong heartbeat and that makes your momma very happy.  I was so relieved to see that everything is okay and that you are growing bigger and stronger every day.  It looks like your due date is May 11th (aunt Brooke's birthday!!).  You'll be born a week early though due to my c-sections being so close together, so we have to make sure you are extra healthy by then.

Your daddy and I still can hardly believe your in there.  While we were in Texas visiting my family, I started getting my first few symptoms, especially nausea.  All.day.long.  Since being home it seems to be better which I'm thankful for.  Thanks for taking it easy on me, baby.

Our next appointment won't be until October 18th.  We'll have a ultrasound that day and I already can't wait to see you again.  You already bring us so much joy.  We feel beyond blessed that we will soon have TWO little loves.  I think my heart might explode.  I sure love you!

All my love,
your momma

Dear baby (#2!!!!)

Dear sweet baby,

I am overwhelmed with equal parts shock and joy as I write this.  It absolutely does NOT feel real.  Are you seriously in there, baby?  Well, the 2 pregnancy tests I took today seem to think you are!  You're daddy and I already love you so much and we just found out about you.  Did you know that you have the coolest big brother?  I think the two of you will be the best of friends (well, you're only gonna be 14 months apart, so I hope so!).  I have to be completely honest with you, because this is a bit of a surprise, I don't even know how pregnant I am but my guess is right around 4 weeks.  I'll make my first prenatal appointment tomorrow so we can make sure things are running smoothly.

I need you to know something.  I think you are a miracle.  Our little miracle.  We had a hard time getting pregnant with your brother, and even lost a baby in the process.  We weren't sure how easy it would be to get pregnant with another baby... but here we are!  Wow!  God is so faithful and good.  He knew our desires to be parents, and although this isn't quite our timeline, we are thrilled.  You are beautiful gift from God!

Life is a little busier these days, but I will still write you weekly letters.  I love you sweet baby!

All my love,

Your momma
